About Us
Hatzola Herts is a volunteer ambulance service with a mission to help the local community and save lives. With over 100 dedicated volunteers, we work alongside the NHS 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Our highly trained team of responders, paramedics and doctors are dedicated to this vital cause and are here to support you.
We pride ourselves on having fast response times, with our first responders on scene in 5-7 minutes.
Thanks to the generosity of our community, we operate at no charge to our patients, and we are open to all within our catchment area.
We respond to your medical emergencies, provide excellent pre-hospital treatment and transport our patients to A&E.
We cover the WD6 area which encompasses Elstree and Borehamwood. We are not able to respond outside of this area.
As a volunteer service, we will endeavour to respond to all emergency calls.
We cannot always guarantee a response, as our resources may already be tied up. In this situation, we will transfer your call directly to 999 to ensure you get the care you require.
We are an Emergency Ambulance Service. If we are called for non-emergencies, this will prevent us from being available when a real emergency takes place.
For all your medical emergencies
As a rule, if you would call 999 to your current situation, it is appropriate to call Hatzola Herts. Should you consider 111 to be more appropriate, please call through to 111. In the event 111 recommend an emergency ambulance, it would also be appropriate to call Hatzola.
